C2N

Colony to Nationhood is the project every Globalite will never forget. In seven groups of four, each group is assigned a nation and was tasked with not only researching the entire country's history since colonization but also transforming portable 11 into the country. The task requires creativity, as to correctly portray each country's overall culture. Every day going into presentations will be stressful, but the hour-long presentation will be better than imagined. The overall feeling of fulfillment, by the end of the week, is well worth all the hard work and stress. A creative journey that results in some tears, close friendships, and a lot of hot glue burns, C2N is the hardest you will work during your global journey.

SOUTH KOREA

South Korea is officially known as the Republic of Korea. Part of East Asia, South Korea is populated by an estimated 50 million citizens, 10 million residing in its capital, Seoul. South Korea has a moderate climate, only dropping to -20° C minimum in January. South Korea’s culture is very similar to North Korea’s, as a neighbouring country, China greatly influenced both. Additionally, art, dance, and religion, all contribute significantly to South Korea’s overall culture.

PERU

The Peru C2N group encompassed the religion, music, dancing, issues, literature and political climate of Peru throughout their hour-long presentation.  The portable included a jungle climate including the historical site Machu Pichu and a recreation of a hillside restaurant. The students were taught simple dance moves. They were fed a traditional three-course meal that included plantain chips, beef with vegetables and french fries, and for dessert they all enjoyed traditional Peruvian chocolate cake.
