Over the course of the semester, the Global Perspectives program has hosted many charities as guest speakers and has made an active effort to increase our awareness and understanding of the issues these charities face. As Global Perspectives is a program that has strong ties to humanitarian efforts, the charities Global Perspectives has interacted with are showcased below, along with ways to get involved. 

Grandmothers to Grandmothers

Mothers to Mothers is a organization focused on empowering African woman, specifically woman who are left to care for the orphan children that have lost their parents to HIV. They also make active efforts to better the healthcare in Africa. Their mission statement reads  "We train, employ, and empower mothers living with HIV to bring health and hope to other mothers, their families, and communities."

Sleeping Children Around the World

Sleeping Children Around the world is a charity that began in 1970. This organization works to provide children in underdeveloped countries with bed-kits. These bed-kits contain a mattress, misquito nets, school supplies, clothing, and other useful supplies that have a immense impact on the lives of the children they are given to.

First Steps

First Steps is an organization based in North Korea. The purpose of this charity is providing children with nutrition as their mission statement explains "First Steps is a Christian organization committed to preventing child malnutrition in North Korea through programs that provide essential nutrients to young children. We exist to practically demonstrate the love of Christ in North Korea by providing sustainable, progressive, and life-enhancing nutritional relief. "
