GERMANY

The long anticipated trip to Germany is an experience that we can all agree on, we will never forget. After many months of putting our all into the many assignments and projects that were given to us over the course of the semester, our trip to Germany was the most rewarding and enriching experience. This trip was more than just 28 days spent touring Deutschland, instead it was 28 days of immersing ourselves in the extraordinary European culture, creating lifelong memories, and living in the moment.

From the moment we got off the bus into the small town of Zweibrücken, everyone was overwhelmed with happiness to finally be reunited with their German exchange partner after a long eight months apart. Our first long weekend there was spent with our exchange families giving us a warm welcome into Germany. We experienced how they live at home, what their city is like and we even tried some different German traditions. Following the long weekend our class was taken on a variety of day trips where we got see different cities, beautiful churches and cathedrals, enchanting castles and many historical monuments. We would go on incredible tours that not only taught us interesting facts but also allowed us to create wonderful memories with our best friends. Two weeks into the trip we took a train ride to Berlin for the long anticipated big trip. While in Berlin we were able to see many incredible historical monuments, along with many beautiful modern elements. Although our feet were so sore from all the walking done within the four days spent there we wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Before we knew it our 28 days in Zweibrücken, Germany had come to an end. For many of us this trip to Germany allowed us to become more open-minded, and independent people. It gave us the opportunity to discover who we are, and that is something we will forever be thankful for. As we stood by the bus after we loaded our luggage many of us were overwhelmed with sadness and tears. Saying goodbye to this town and to our partners who we have become family with was difficult for everyone. However for most of us we know that it is not truly a goodbye it is a see you later.  Our plane ride home was one of our last moments together as the Global family. We knew that even though Global was ending the memories we had made together would never leave us.
