A must-see tourist attraction this is the local park located behind the school in Germany.  Home to a slide, trampolines, and castle with its own moat this park is home to many memories and countless laughs. Beware of getting stuck in the slide it’s smaller and sticker than it looks!!!

This picture is of what is called “spaghetti ice”. It is basically just vanilla ice cream pressed to look like spaghetti noodles. There is strawberry sauce and fresh strawberries on the ice cream as well. This desert is a classic treat in Zweibrucken and it is not found anywhere in North America. This ice cream is tasty and sweet, and is loved by all Canadians :))

This photo was taken right after a day spent in Paris, France. My partner and I had just made great memories visiting places such as L'arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, and the Eiffel Tower. We had spent the day walking the streets of Paris, whilst taking the, “metro,” to different locations. I will forever remember this day, as I would not have wanted to experience such amazing historical sites with anyone else.

We visited the Berlin Wall. Here, we were able to reflect on the damage and capability a wall had that divided and tore apart families and also ruined relationships.

The day I was chosen to take a picture for was June 7, 2018. We were coming back to Zweibrücken from our big trip in Berlin and had been on trains all day. After our train got stopped for two hours and we almost missed our connection we were all exhausted, most us fell asleep on the small (and very crowded) connection train. Mr. Babcock took this as the perfect opportunity to take selfies with Caleb as he was asleep to show him when he woke up for a laugh. Needless to say it brightened everyone’s long and tiring day.

Today is the day that all of the Canadian global students joined their German partners in their classes at Hemholtz Gymnasium. The German students have a different schedule during their school day then here in Canada. Essentially they spend the whole day with the same group of people moving from class to class. The school day is only 5 and a half hours long and the Canadians spent that time in class observing the dynamics of a high school classroom in a different continent. Although the classes were taught in German which made it difficult to understand the lesson, we still learned a lot about high school in Germany and had a great day.

This picture was taken at ‘Fun Forest‘ in Homburg Germany after an exhausting and exhilarating 3 hours of climbing in the trees. The course includes zip-lining across a lake and going through many obstacles high in the air, the weather was perfect and I could not ask for a better day of fun.

This picture was taken from the top of the Heidelberg Castle in Germany. After a very, very, very, long walk up a hill - all of the students were mesmerized by the view at the end of our  journey that day.

Our trip to Mainz, Germany focused on the old historical aspect of the town. The students toured the museum of Johanne Gutenberg, who introduced the printing press to Europe, consequently helping the reformation of the Roman Catholic Church. As a way to further the students’ understanding of this period in history, the teenagers watched a demonstration of the process of a printing press, as well as viewing the original 15th century book made by Gutenberg.

The Germany trip is all about having new experiences. Today, I had the opportunity to try a new food known as "stick bread". Prior to today, I had never even realized that this was  something that could be done.

It’s funny because it started as a simple walk to the park as we waited to go into the EU Parliament is Strasbourg, France. But the heat took over everyone’s decision apparently, and suddenly we all found ourselves sitting under the tree, in the shade, having a small (unplanned) picnic.
