MUSIC WITH MS. CHRISTIE

____________________________________________________________________________________

Ms. Christie’s music class was Global’s first class of the day, and it was always nice to start the day off with some music. Ms. Christie always kept it laid back, and made sure that all the students were enjoying her class. From learning about music of other cultures to making some tunes of our own, it was always a good time. Some of her musical talent definitely rubbed off on us, and by the end of the semester we were all jamming on the ukulele.

AN INTERVIEW WITH MS. CHRISTIE

____________________________________________________________________________________

 Any advice for future globalites?

Be courageous and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.

What is your favourite memory of this year?

The music and dancing in Cuba was probably the best thing I experienced.

What is your favourite quote of the year?

When Maddy said Beethoven like “bait-hoven”

Why is Global important?

Global is important because it allows students to connect our culture to many different ones around the world and see how we all relate on a global scale.

How does Global change students?

I think this year especially Global allowed the students to find a new way to express themselves creatively as well as making them more outgoing and confident when it came to their expression

What do you find different between global and a regular class?

Well, as a music teacher, I’m very accustomed to conducting during a music class and having my class play different pieces but with Global we talk about the meaning and culture behind the music more than I ever have.

How did you get involved in global?

Well, last year they were looking for an art teacher and approached me and I said yes! So far it’s been an awesome decision.
