The denial to provide access to safe abortion is an ongoing issue in today’s world. Women are not given a choice over their own body. However, the denial of abortions provided in a safe facility, with trained personnel, does not deter the women from obtaining the procedure. Instead safe abortions are replaced by clandestine procedures that claim millions of women’s lives every year. Facing barriers at every turn whether it be legal, physicians, or social stigma women are faced with the impossible task of carrying pregnancies that could potentially be very harmful to themselves or putting their own lives in mortal danger by having an unsafe abortion.  In today’s form of violence against women, the denial of safe therapeutic abortion restricts procedures that could prevent numerous unnecessary deaths. Unsafe abortion is a preventable pandemic.
