I will always remember…

The first meeting of Global and seeing 27 complete strangers, who 11 months later, became family.

How did you hear about global, and why did you decide to apply?

My sister was in Global 2012, and I wanted to take advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity to travel, as well as grow personally and academically.

What has Global taught you?

Global has taught me a lot about myself and a lot about the world around me. I’ve learned how important it is to not procrastinate and stay organized. Not only that but I’ve learned how to run on zero hours of sleep and how to push myself to new limits.

How has Global changed you?

Global has improved my work ethic and it’s expanded my world view. I was never a shy person but Global has brought me completely out of my comfort zone and has improved my confidence. From in class lessons and the trips, I’ve gained such a different perspective on the world and I now have a greater understanding of privilege. Oh and also, I now drink coffee.

Favourite Global quote?

“We’ll just let that ruminate” -Niko

What are your plans for the future?

I plan on going to university to study Humanities or a Social Science and travel as much as possible.
