The awesome memories I made dancing the night away with the Cubans. I’m never going to forget all the good times I had laughing and dancing with my Cuban partner, Diana! Also, the entire month I spent with my German sister, Maren was completely unforgettable.

 

How did you hear about global, and why did you decide to apply?

 

I heard about Global from an Eastview guidance counsellor who visited my grade ten history class. I decided to dive into this journey because I knew that it would be such a great way to meet friends from around my city and around the world!

 

What has Global taught you?

Global has taught me that the best parts of life are the beautiful relationships we create. I learned that our individual journeys tend to connect with others in the most unexpected ways, and this is what it means to be human.

 

How has Global changed you?

 

Global has changed me through all the new experiences I had with the German students, in Cuba and in Portable 11. Before I started the program, I often kept to myself and was hesitant to exit my comfort zone. Now, I find so much happiness in seeking out challenges, taking risks, and allowing myself to embrace every aspect of this lovely life.

What are your plans for the future?

 

I’m planning on going to university for a Bachelor of Science in biology or biomedical science. This way, I can study what I love and be able to make a positive change in the world through improving human and animal health.
