My ISU topic is Political Corruption in Developing Countries. This topic includes an examination of how corrupt governments rise to power, as well as how they retain that power and use it to oppress citizens. Essentially the causes, effects, and potential solutions of political corruption are examined. My three case studies are Sudan, Brazil, and Uzbekistan. I chose this topic because it combines two things: politics, which I was already passionate about, and issues in developing countries, which Global really opened my eyes to.
