The topic I have chosen to do my ISU on is the Discrimination of the LGBT Community. I have always had an interest toward the ways in which members of the LGBT community are treated, as well as discriminated against due to whom the identify as, and who they choose to love. In many nations, those who identify as homosexual or transgender are oppressed, and I have proven this throughout my three case studies: Russia, Indonesia, and Egypt. In all of these countries along with many more, the LGBT community is viewed as deviants and have a much lesser value than all “normal” citizens. Discrimination is an ongoing issue in which needs to be addressed on the international scale, and in the near future needs to be put to an end.
