I will always remember…

The last night of the Cuba trip when all of us, Canadian and Cuban students and teachers formed a circle and sang the song Tienes Alas. Many of us began to cry and it was a sad but beautiful moment because it was the moment I realized that I gained a family in Global.

How did you hear about global, and why did you decide to apply?

I heard about Global through Torlee when he interrupted my English class in tenth grade and showed the class a video from the 2016 Global class. Truthfully, I never considered doing an exchange program before, but then I thought that it was a good opportunity to meet new people and learn the subjects that I had interest in.

What has Global taught you?

Global taught me many things, but I think the most important message is to immerse yourself to the culture of anywhere you are in the world. You may not get a second chance to experience your experiences again.

How has Global changed you?

I feel more comfortable talking to people and it’s given me a more defined perspective on the choices and opportunities I have.

Favourite Global quote?

“Life is crazy.” - Nessa

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future includes moving back to Toronto get a Bachelor of the Arts, and hopefully become an urban planner. If not, I am hoping that I choose a career where I can help people and change their lives for the better.

Describe Global in 3 words.
