I will always remember…

SYLVIE CARR

_____________________________________________________________________________

First meeting my german partner, Victoria. Without ever seeing each other in person, she ran off that bus so quickly into my arms, and we were inseparable ever since (until she flew 3,969 miles back home, but you get the idea).

How did you hear about global, and why did you decide to apply?

My sister was was in global 2015. I honestly knew nothing about the program besides her telling me “Do it. It will be the best semester of your life”

What has Global taught you?

Global has definitely taught me: organization. Get yourself a day planner/agenda. Creating your own due-dates increases discipline, and you’ll force yourself to get the work done with time to spare (highly suggest this for the ISU. I made sure each section was “due” on a specific day, so i was never scrambling to get it done the night before). Thanks to this, i was only really every stressed out once (during C2N). GLOBAL SHOULDN’T BE INSANELY DIFFICULT, getting started on your work the day that it is assigned makes a huge difference.

How has Global changed you?

How hasn’t it changed me is the better question. I had the opportunity to make lifelong friends in both Cuba and Germany, all the while being thrown university-level assignments at a steady pace.

Favourite Global quote?

“Babs, I’m on the bus!”

What are your plans for the future?

I love kids, nutrition, and medicine. Is a pediatric nutritionist that is also able to operate a thing?

Describe Global in 3 words.

Toole. Takes. Bribes.
